Replacement forks for your project.
These forks were used on the first version of our ‘Monster’ CX (425mm for 700 x 42c) bike, and the ‘Unibomber’ (445mm for 27.5x2.2”).
They are black with polished crown and dropouts, for use as replacement, or for rebuilding a project bike.
The shorter 425mm (Axle to Crown length) fork can be used on your older mountain bike with 63 or 80mm travel front suspension forks that no longer work and are heavy.
The longer 445mm forks work as a replacement fork for 26” mountain bikes that had 100mm travel front suspension.
These forks will transform an older bike into a nimble street fighting, pub crawling town bike with style.
To check if this upgrade will be a good option for your bike, the measurement is from the center of the dropout where the wheel axle sits, to the crown race where the headset bearing bottoms out on. It should be within 20mm, and note that for every 25mm, the head tube angle will change about one degree, and that could have a negative effect on the bikes handling.
Note that these forks are for disc brakes only, so an older bike may have to be upgraded to a front disc brake as well.
